There was a rare triple dead-heat (photo on left) for second place in the fourth race on Sunday at Los Alamitos. Luis Nunez’s Runaway Corky won the $14,800 Quarter Horse race at 350 yards but the photo finish could not separate A Mere Dynasty, Ronsepi and Rush Of Fire to determine a second place finisher. As a result of the triple dead heat there were three different exacta payouts, six different trifecta payouts and six different superfecta payouts. Runaway Corky covered the distance in :17.471. The gelded son of Ocean Runaway has won five of his last six starts.
