Leonardo and Javier Olmos’ The Streakin Clean was the quickest of the quick, as the Arizona-bred mare won the $16,000 Hawkish Handicap at 100 yards from post seven in a track record time on Sunday at Los Alamitos.

The previous track record at this distance of :06.514 was set by Juno Dat Royal Bug on May 18, 2007. The Streakin Clean was picking up her second win in six starts this season at the Orange County oval. The daughter of Streakin La Jolla beat allowance rivals in late August, but she’s also faced stakes rivals twice before. She was fifth to Grade 1 winner Nellie Delaney in the Merial California Distaff Challenge on August 16 and was third in her previous start to Significant Heart in the $25,000 Las Damas Handicap. For her career, The Streakin Clean has now scored eight wins in 21 starts. She earned $8,800 in this event to take her career earnings $47,047. Alberto Valdes’ Ronas Runner finished second in the Hawkish to give her four consecutive races with a finish of second or better. The mare by Corona Cartel came into this event having won her last two starts. Ronas Runner earned $3,600 for her runner-up effort. Veronica Gail Worth’s Splendiferous Diva was third. Fols Jesse, Bemused, Mr Its Country Time, Quarter Moon Action, SS Calendar Girl and Hes Chillin completed the field.
