The jockey was able to move his extremities, but he was scheduled to undergo a CT scan and was also complaining of back pain. Huerta was named to ride Ed Allred’s Quirky in the Champion of Champions on Saturday and Allred’s Sale Topper in the Los Alamitos Two Million Futurity.
As for He Is The Risingstar, the Mercy Hinklins Horse Farm-bred runner covered the distance in :27.34 while earning $11,000 for the win. He was picking up his fourth win in 12 starts. He’s now earned $68,807 in his career, which included a sixth place finish in the Grade 1 Los Alamitos Super Derby.
John Lane Henderson’s Political Chick earned $4,500 for running second, while First Down Tiny Man earned $2,500 for running third. Pappas In The Pen, Blabber, Zoomin For Kash, and SMS Boogie Nanu completed the field.
