  Jockey Carlos Huerta has full movement of all his limbs, but broke three vertebrae numbers 7,8,9 following a spill in the eighth race on Friday night at Los Alamitos. Huerta was unseated shortly after the finish line while riding the 3-year-old filly Blabber in the Paul Ford Memorial Handicap. Blabber was able to get up and walked away from the incident with no injuries. Trainer Scott Willoughby reported that she was back in his barn doing well this morning.

Huerta was alert and feeling a lot better and will avoid surgery according to report. The length of his recovery has not been determined. For more info contact larace@losalamitos.com
