      Fulton Quien Sabe Ranches’ He Is The Risingstar showed once again that he isthe king of the 550-yard division at Los Alamitos after posting one of theeasiest wins of the entire meet in the $20,000 Paul Ford Handicap on Fridaynight.

 

Ridden by Cesar De Alba for trainerPaul Jones, He Is The Risingstar won the Paul Ford by 2 ¼ lengths and was neverchallenged as the 3-5 favorite. Bred by Hinklins Horse Farm LLC, the 4-year-oldgelding by Mr Jess Perry covered the distance in :26.80, easily the fastesttime of the meet. Which horse had the previous fastest 550-yard clocking? He IsThe Risingstar, of course, when winning the Barbra B Handicap in :27.105 backon January 10.

 

He Is The Risingstar was also defendinghis Paul Ford title after the winning this race last December. This was histhird stakes win at 550 yards. He Is The Risingstar earned $11,000 for the winto take his career earnings over the $100,000 mark to $107,760. He Is TheRisingstar has won six of 18 career starts.

 

 

Trained by Matt Fales for his parents, Ralph and CarolynFales, Mickey Ward earned $4,500 for running second in the Paul Ford. The distancespecialist came into this race after running fifth in the Grade 1 AndreiniDistance Challenge on October 29.
