        Jockey Juan Sanchez is recovering on Saturday morning after undergoing bladder surgery at Long Beach Memorial agent Frank Quezada told Los Alamitos’ Ed Burgart. Sanchez also suffered other injuries as a result of the spill according to Quezada. Burgart provided a full update on his Twitter feed @qheddie.

         Sanchez was injured during a riding accident in the first race on Friday night at Los Alamitos.

         @qheddie: “Jockey Juan Sanchez, unseated when his mount Gamezapoer fell in Friday Los Al 1st race, underwent surgery on his bladder at Long Beach Memorial. He has complete movement and is being monitored for minor bleeding near brain. He also suffered fractured jaw and ribs. Updates to come”

        

        Burgart added that Los Alamitos Racing Secretary Jay Conklin is also in close communication with Sanchez's family.
