Moon Me Blue and Bolt For Gold, who last saw each other in the Holiday Handicap on opening weekend back on December 29, return to action to headline a 300-yard dash for $30,000 claimers on Saturday at Los Alamitos. Eight races are on tap with first post set for 6 p.m.

Neither Moon Me Blue or Bolt For Gold fared well in the Holiday - they finished sixth and seventh respectively - but they've both enjoyed previous success at Los Alamitos. Moon Me Blue won a pair of hard-fought events for $20,000 claimers for owner Oscar Parra and trainer Valentin Zamudio last year, while Bolt For Gold finished second to Mr FDDin the Corona Chick Handicap and was also part of the Autumn Handicap, both of which were held last year. Mesa Valley Farms campaigns the Mark Skeen-trained Bolt For Gold.

The field will also feature EG High Desert Farms' Justaczech, who qualified to the Wild West Futurity last year, and Salvador Rabago's Alacarrera, who competed in the Los Alamitos Maiden Stakes two weeks ago. Tamura, who races for the partnership of Cannon, Davidson, et al, has hit the board in seven of nine starts and like all the others in this field has stakes experience when he raced in the Golden State Juvenile Invitational last year.
