RACE 6
2-YEAR-OLD MAIDENS AT 300 YARDS
#1 Gentleman Chuck - April 14 :12.70 at 220 yards – Outside horse
Favorite Cartel gelding out of the stakes winning mare Nymph was outworked by the Kiddy Up gelding Hit It Up. Gentleman Chuck broke straight and was asked right-handed twice. He picked up speed past the gap, drifted in and made up about a half-length late in the work while finishing about a half-length behind Hit It Up. He lively gallop out from there.
#2 Three Alarm – April 18 :12.80 – Outside
The Seperate Interest gelding outworked Curious Case 12.8 to 13.0 on April 17. Three Alarm drifted inside after the start and jockey responded by going to his left hand. The gelding took the lead and was flagged right-handed twice to the wire. He was under a big hold past the wire.
#4 Sullee – April 16 :13.10 – Outside
Purchased for $100,000 at the Ruidoso Sale, Sullee is a gelding by One Famous Eagle out of the multiple Grade 1 finalist Royally Sandra. Sullee will be outworked here by Terrific Temper 12.9 to 13.10. Sullee broke slow and hopped slightly at the start before shifting out. He was a bit green early on. He straightened out, was tapped once and accelerated nicely while looking much better in the second half of the work. Crossed the wire a length behind Terrific Temper, who will be in action in race 7.
#6 Strongly – April 16 :12.60 – Outside
Gelding by Favorite Cartel was purchased for $70,000 at the Los Alamitos Equine Sale. His dam is a half-sister to Governor’s Cup Futurity winners Hard Hitting and Hot Hitter. Strongly is working here with Just A Dasha Hero, who’ll be in action in race eight. Strongly will break cleanly but veer to the inside. He will lock horns with Just A Dasha Hero. He will be flagged once and tapped once while finishing just behind workmate. Strongly finished with the 18th fastest of 39 drills.
#9 Too Too Good – April 16 :12.60 – Outside
Too Too Good’s dam is How Good, who has produced stakes winner Well And Good and Well Good. Favorite Cartel colt was outworked here by the colt Swinging Mr Cartel 12.5 to 12.6. Purchased for $47,000 at the Los Alamitos Equine Sale, Too Too Good was quick out of the gate before drifting out. He was asked several times right-handed and came back to the inside. He straightened out nicely and was asked a few more times late on the way to finishing with nice energy when crossing the wire a neck behind Swinging Mr Cartel. Very strong finish from Too Too Good, who posted the 15th fastest of 40 drills.
RACE 7
2-YEAR-OLD MAIDENS FILLIES AT 300 YARDS
#1 Chika Blazin - March 31 :12.30 - Outside
Chika Blazin was scratched from a race on Friday, April 24. She is entered back this Saturday night. She had an eye-catching work on March 31 after posting the bullet drill on a morning in which Robert Adair Kindergarten finalists Jeanetics and Jet Wings One also posted works. Chika Blazin covered the 220 yards on that morning in :12.30 when the Walk Thru Fire filly left the gate nicely, showing a quick turn of foot. She ran with her head a bit high and was asked once left-handed before pulling away from her rival. She drifted in slightly at the end but finished a half-length ahead of Coopers Best Card.
#2 Lethal Dream – April 18 :12.60 – Inside in 3-horse drill
Worked from the inside post when part of a three-horse set on April 18. The Volcom filly worked with the One Famous Eagle filly Sheza Famous Royal and CC Carolina, who worked from the outside here and is also making her career debut in this race seven. Lethal Dream was leaning to the right side of the gate before the start before hopping out of the gate and then getting bumped to the inside part of the track. She leveled out after the gap and finished okay. She worked all on her own and had an excellent gallop out. Her time was the 18th fastest of 39 drills.

3 Terrific Temper – April 16 :12.90 – Inside
Was scratched on May 2 when she became fractious in the gate and got loose from a few moments. A filly by Tempting Dash out of the two-time Grade 1 winner Terrific Energy, Terrific Temper outworked the gelding Sullee on April 16. Terrific Temper broke awkwardly, and her rider may have brushed the side of the gate at the start. She will run greenly from that point on while looking to drift to the inside. She continues to want to drift to the inside throughout but is under a hold from her rider.
#5 CC Carolina – April 18 :12.50 – Outside in 3-horse drill
Worked from the outside post in that three-horse set against Lethal Dream and Sheza Famous Royal. CC Carolina had an excellent break, left straight and was asked twice right-handed. She drifted slightly to the inside but continued to work nicely and completed the drill without being asked during the second half of the work. She crossed the wire evenly with Sheza Famous Royal in the 9th fastest of 39 works on April 18.
RACE 8
#1 Jumpn JB – April 18 :12.40 – Outside
Worked evenly with the filly Sassies Blue Girl, who was impressive debut winner on May 2. A Washington-bred colt, Jumpn JB broke in but was quick into his stride. He was asked twice and then encouraged a couple of more times. He drifted in at that point while finishing strongly to edge Sassies Blue Girl by a sliver. Jumpn JB lugged out around the turn well after the wire.
#2 Sawmill Favorite – April 16 :12.80 - Outside
Was outworked by AJS On Time 12.5 to 12.8. AJS On Time was entered to run Friday night. Sawmill Favorite broke to the inside here and trailed early on. He was asked a couple of times. He leveled out while finishing two lengths behind AJS On Time. His time was the 28th fastest of 40 drills.
#3 Curious Case – April 18 :13.0 - Inside
Was outworked by the Seperate Interest colt Three Alarm 12.8 to 13.0. Three Alarm is entered to run in Saturday’s sixth race. Curious Case was moving around before the start, was slow out of the gate and then veered to the inside. He leveled out and was asked right-handed. He was tapped a few more times while finishing a half-length behind Three Alarms.
#6 Untouchable Lover – April 25 :12.70 - Inside
Worked evenly with the FDD Dynasty filly Monarch Dynasty when posting the 13th fastest of 23 drills on April 25. Untouchable Lover lugged in at the start and then continued to float the inside. He was corrected left-handed and moved away from the rail. He was asked twice right-handed, continued solidly and edged rival to the wire.
#7 From Above – April 14 :12.90 – Outside
Took on the colt Up And Ready in a workout on April 14 when outworked 12.4 to 12.9. Up And Ready was entered to debut on Friday night. From Above hopped out of the gate and trailed by daylight early on. He drifted in a bit after being asked twice and was then asked a few more time during second half of the work when finishing about three lengths behind impressive workmate.
#8 Just A Dasha Hero – April 18 :12.60 – Inside
Valiant Hero gelding is out of Dasha Freda, the dam of 2015 AQHA World Champion Heza Dasha Fire and AQHA champion and Grade 1 winner Ima Fearless Hero. Just A Dasha Hero will work evenly with the colt Strongly in this drill. Strongly is entered in Saturday’s sixth race. Just A Dasha Hero lugged in at the start, was asked twice and he leveled out. He hooked up with Strongly at that point and will hold on to his advantage to win drill by a head. He was under a hand-ride during the second half of the work. The time of 12.60 equaled the 18th fastest of 38 drills on April 18.
