RACE 7 – Maidens, 2-Year-Old Fillies at 300 yards

#3 Checkn Favorite – April 25  :12.70 - Solo

Homebred filly by Favorite Cartel, Checkn Favorite breaks cleanly and in a straight path. Will drift in slightly hallway through the work but continues without being asked. She is under a hold and will gallop out while still under a good hold from her rider. Her time was the 13th fastest of 23 drills.

#4 Chickashe – April 14 :12.70 – Outside

Will be outworked by Just Thinker 12.3 to 12.7 with her rival going on to finish 4th behind Cosmopolitanne in a trial to the Grade 2 Robert Adair Kindergarten Futurity on May 3. Chickashe broke clean and straight from the outside post. She is asked for more at the midway point of the drill. She continues with an even effort throughout while finishing 2 ½ lengths behind Just Thinker.

#5 See For Yourself – April 16 :12.80 – Outside

Filly by Good Reason SA was purchased for $34,000 at the Los Alamitos Equine Sale. She works here with the Favorite Cartel filly Kool Chic. See For Yourself will hop out of the gate and will shift out soon after before coming back to the inside. She is tapped once and looks much better in the second half of the drill, making up ground while floating inside near the wire. She finished a half-length behind Kool Chic before continuing with a solid gallop out. Her time was the 28th fastest of 40 works on April 16.

#6 Curvy Path – April 28 :12.70 – Inside

Was outworked by Mysterious Identity 12.4 to 12.7 on April 26. Mysterious Identity was entered to run on Friday night. Curvy Path will break in and then asked right-handed several times during the middle part of the work. She crosses the wire 1 ½ lengths behind Mysterious Identity before lugging out during her gallop out.  

#7 Conga Blanca – May 2 :12.90 – Inside Horse

Will leave the gate from the inside post as part of this three-horse set. She is working with El Cuervo Favorito, who wins the drill in :12.4 after starting in between horses, and Docs Times Fire, who posted :12.6 clocking from the outside post. A gray filly by Mr Jess Perry, Conga Blanca will break to the inside and will be asked left-handed for more while trailing her two workmates. She will out float out late and will show good energy after the wire while continuing the float out. She had the ninth fastest of 15 drills on May 2.

#8 Ynot The Favorite – March 21 :12.30 – Outside

A full sister to Grade 1 Mildred Vessels Handicap and Grade 1 Charger Bar Handicap winner Tequila Sangria, Ynot The Favorite posted the 5th fastest of 67 drills on March 21. She outworked Favorite Cartel filly Expedited 12.3 to 12.4 in this drill. Ynot The Favorite left the gate in straight fashion and only went to the inside for a few feet once she got rolling. She leveled out quickly and was asked once and then flagged right-handed as she continued moving on a straight path. After this sharp gate drill, Ynot The Favorite came back to post a 220-yard turn and work in 12.70 on April 11.      

RACE 8 – Maidens, 2-Year-Olds at 300 yards

#1 Dont Ride The Slide – April 14  :12.90 – Inside Horse

A $16,000 purchase at the Heritage Place Sale, this chestnut colt was outworked by Watch Over Bella 12.1 to 12.9. Watch Over Bella debuted with a third-place finish to Monopolist and Big Boy Deluxe on May 1. Big Boy Deluxe is also part of the field in race 8. Dont Ride The Slide was acting up before the start and will lunge towards the inside at the start. He has his head high for a few strides before leveling out after the gap. He finished four lengths behind Watch Over Bella.

#2 Mr Spirit Balker – April 21 :12.90 – Inside Horse

Purchased for $26,000 at the Heritage Place Sale, Mr Spirit Balker is outworked by Favorite Folly 12.2 to 12.9. Favorite Folly was entered in a maiden race on Friday night. Mr Spirit Balker was bumped and pushed far to the inside at the start. He is asked twice midway through the drill and will finish four lengths behind rival. Has an okay gallop out.

#5 Hesa Grave Digger – April 25  :12.30 – Outside Horse

Posted the fastest of 23 drills on April 25 when outworking EFF Famous Freedom 12.3 to 13.2. A gelding by Apollitical Jess, Hesa Grave Digger broke inside and it's hard to tell if he brushed slightly with foe. He does have a big advantage soon after. He started to drift out late and rider will correct him once right-handed. Will float to the inside but finishes with good energy and continues solidly after the wire.

#8 Coronas Big Flash – April 14 :12.30 – Outside

Corona Cartel gelding had the 4th fastest of 47 drills on April 14 when outworking Celtic Rhythm 12.3 to 12.4. Celtic Rhythm was second to A Solid Reason when debuting on May 1. Coronas Big Flash hopped slightly to the inside at the start of this drill but quickly leveled out after the gap. He was even with Celtic Rhythm at this point before accelerating nicely in the final 50 to win the drill by a ½ length. He continued with a very strong gallop out.
