RACE 6 – MAIDEN FOR 2-YEAR-OLDS – 300 YARDS
#1 Big Fabuloso – June 16 :12.60 at 220 Yards
Outside Horse
Mexico-bred colt will be making his career debut. In his last workout, he broke in and quick into his stride while working with the filly La Chaca Prize. He was under hand urging while taking the lead and holding on to win the drill by a head. He had a comfortable gallop out from there.
#3 Dutch Flat – June 2 :12.80 at 220 Yards
Was part of a three-horse drill when working from the outside against Accrued Interest and Conga Blanca. Dutch Flat broke in and trailed early and was asked right-handed. He remained behind his rivals and finished 1 ½ lengths behind workout winner Accrued Interest, who covered the distance in :12.5. This was Dutch Flat’s third gate work and his other drills have been in :12.8 and :12.9.
Yes But Go – June 27 :12.70 at 220 Yards – Outside Horse
Favorite Cartel gelding worked with the Seperate Interest filly Smarts. Yes But Go broke cleanly and kept a nice straight path. He trailed early and continued evenly before being asked twice right-handed with about 50 yards left to go. He finished a half-length behind his workmate while posting the seventh fastest of 13 drills.
RACE 7 – GOVERNOR’S CUP DERBY TRIAL – 400 YARDS
#2 Just Be Real – May 30 :17.90 at 350 Yards – Solo Drill
The stakes winner and Grade 1 stakes finalist broke sharply in this drill and moved slightly to the outside before accelerating and finding a nice rhythm. He continued racing straight throughout on the way a solid workout and a good-looking gallop out. His time of :17.90 was the fastest of two this morning.
#3 Max My Bullets – May 23 :18.40 at 350 Yards – Solo Drill
Corona Czech filly will make her first start of the season. She had turn and work on June 14 when covering the distance in :12.50. Her most recent gate drill came on May 23 when she scrambled out of he gate and bobbled four strides into her workout. She regained her stride and looked good past the gap while continuing solidly from there while under a hold. She completed her drill with a nice gallop out.
#5 Secretary of Defense – June 16 :18.40 at 350 Yards – Solo Drill:
The Foose gelding had a good, clean start before floating to the inside in the second half of this drill. She raced on her own from there and was never asked before finishing with a good gallop out.
RACE 8 – GOVERNOR’S CUP DERBY TRIAL – 400 YARDS
#1 Sass Go Blue – June 13 :18.20 at 350 Yards – Solo Drill
The winner of the Grade 2 PCQHRA Breeders Futurity, Sass Go Blue broke in just a tad but evened out quickly and moved nicely from there while under a hand ride. He drifted to the inside during the second half of the work, but he displayed a sharp looking stride across the finishing while continuing swiftly around the clubhouse turn.
#4 Nomadic – June 13 :17.90 at 350 Yards – Solo Drill
Worked on the same morning as Sass Go Blue on June 13 when moving quickly and hitting a nice stride right out of the gate. He moved slightly outward, was asked right-handed before moving back to the inside just a touch. He floated back to the inside but finished powerfully and continued with a strong stride past the wire when recording the fastest of seven 350-yard drills on June 13.
