His most recent gate drill on July 26 was not available for viewing. His first gate work came from the inside post vs. King Eazy as the two went evenly in 13.0. From the inside, Recent Version broke in sharply after the start. Was hustled the entire way and eventually moved away from the rail. He hooked with King Eazy and finished a head behind his rival at the wire. Showed good energy after the wire but was a bit of a handful during his gallop out.

#1 Phoebes Baby Girl  – July 30  :12.4 at 220 yards

She worked from the inside post vs. John Deere California Juvenile Challenge entrant Fired Up For This 1 on July 30 when finishing behind her company in 12.3 vs. 12.4. Phoebes Baby Girl broke slow and appeared to be brushed or at least intimidated by her drifting-in rival, sending her towards the inside. She moved away from the rail and did a nice job in finding a good stride and working hard to the wire under a hand ride. She crossed the wire about 1 ½ lengths behind her rival before going under a light hold while she displayed good power around the clubhouse turn.

RACE 7 MAIDENS – 3 YEAR OLDS & UP AT 300 YARDS

Working from the inside post while Nymphette worked in between horses here, Straight And True was fastest out of the gate, leaving cleanly before looking a little green during the first 30 yards. He settled into a good rhythm before getting crowded by the fast- moving Nymphette, but rom there but could not hold off the now well-known acceleration from Nymphette. He continued working hard while floating towards the rail in the final 25 yards, crossing the wire a length behind Nymphette. Competitive effort when taken into account that Nymphette went on to post two impressive victories to kick off her racing career here.
