CIR LADY MOON CONTINUES RISING WITH THIRD STAKES WIN OF THE MEET
Daniel and Carol Lee’s Cir Lady Moon is now a three-time stakes winner at Los Alamitos in 2023 after edging EG High Desert Farms’ Letty Cartel by a nose in the $35,000 Sound Dash Handicap for fillies and mares here on Saturday night.
Cir Lady Moon and Letty Cartel have been involved in some very tight finishes in stakes races at the Orange County oval. Cir Lady Moon beat Letty Cartel by a head in the Denim N Diamonds Handicap earlier this year before Letty Cartel came back to outduel Cir Lady Moon by a nose in the $100,000 Abigail Kawananakoa Stakes. Cir Lady Moon also won the $50,000 Miss Princess Handicap, a race in which Letty Cartel ran a solid third.
Ridden by Armando Cervantes for trainer Monty Arrossa, Cir Lady Moon earned $19,350 for the win to take her total bankroll to $130,625 while taking her record to eight wins from 18 starts. Bred by the Gary Robison Estate, the Utah-bred mare by Moonin The Eagle has won three of her six starts this season.
Trained by Jesus Nunez, Letty Cartel earned $7,875 for running second. The top two finishers were followed across the wire by Sweet Tess, A Dream To Fill, Jess Dream Of Me, Hit Girl Bummer B, All Prettied Up, and Budder Off Friends,
