TOP PROSPECTS NOW SHINING IN GATE WORKS AT LOS ALAMITOS

        Gate works for the stars of the future, the 2-year-old Quarter Horses, at Los Alamitos are now in full swing with 83 juveniles recording an official 220 drill since March 1. The videos of each of these horses can be enjoyed and analyzed at LosAlamitos.com as they get closer and closer to making their racing debuts in 2025. Here’s a brief look at a few of these promising prospects from the March 1 and March 4 work tabs.

Zoomin To The Eagle :13.2 - Moonin The Eagle gelding is a out of a Signs Zoomer and a half-brother to multiple Grade 1 winner Jeriko, the winner of the 2023 Los Alamitos Super Derby and 2024 Robert Boniface Los Alamitos Invitational Championship. Jeriko is a two-time Champion of Champions finalist. Jose Espinoza owns Zoomin To The Eagle.

 

Browwn Sugar :13.0 - Good Reason SA colt is out of Amore La Blue and a full brother to Grade 1 Los Alamitos Winter Derby winner Brown Coffeee. Amore La Blue is the dam of Dash For Cash Derby winner Favorite Blues Man, who ran in the Ruidoso Futurity and Rainbow Derby. She also produced 2024 Los Alamitos Maiden Stakes winner Amore For A Reason, who competed in last year's All American Oaks and Rainbow Oaks. Jackpot Farm and Mt. Brilliant Stable will campaign Brownn Sugar.

 

Jess Im Worth It :13.2 - We'll see a lot of juveniles owned by EG High Desert Farms and sired by the Farms' stallion A Mere Felix in 2025 following the young sire's standout performer Favorite Jesshawk. The A Mere Felix colt Jess Im Worth It is out of the multiple stakes winner Jess Hawk, who won the Grade 3 Miss Princess while also placing in both the Grade 1 Los Alamitos Winter Derby and Grade 1 Brad McKinzie Los Alamitos Winter Championship during her racing career.

 

Layenda Candelaria :13.1 - A filly by A Mere Felix is out of SS Calendar Girl. Owned by EG High Desert Farms, Leyenda Calendaria is a half-sister to Marcelo, the runner-up in both the 2024 Brad McKinzie Winter Championship and 2023 Sgt Pepper Feature.

 

Muscle Max :12.6 - Gary Laramie-owned colt is by Seperate Interest out of the solid producer Corona Mas Fina, the mother of the multiple stakes placed mare Jess Mas and 2017 Southern California and 2018 Sprint Stakes winner Uno Corona Mas.

 

Famous Lights :13.0 - Owned by Connie Moon, Idaho-bred filly is by Freighttrain B and out of the stakes winner Wayward Wings, who took the 2011 Hawthorne Futurity at Sandy Downs. Wayward Wings is the mother of Jet Wings One, winner of four stakes race at Los Alamitos and runner-up in the 2020 Robert Adair Kindergarten Futurity.

 

Crypto Faborite :12.7 - EG High Desert Farms bred this Favorite Cartel colt, who is out Remember To Dash, a First Down Dash mare who qualified for the Grade 1 Ed Burke Million Futurity and Grade 1 Golden State Million Futurity in 2017. Crypto Faborite's granddam is the great Remember Me Rose.    

 

MARCH 4 NOTABLES – GATE WORKS FROM THIS MORNING ARE AVAILABLE HERE

 

Favoritedashforcash :13.0 - Another EG High Desert Farms-homebred, this Favorite Cartel colt is out of 2015 AQHA champion filly Walk Thru Crystal, the winner of the (G2)  Kindergarten Futurity and (G1) Ed Burke Million in her championship campaign. Walk Thru Crystal earned $675,855 during her 14-race career.

 

Accelerated :12.5 - Purchased for an all-time Los Alamitos Equine Sale record of $850,000 by Gamaliel Garza Garcia in 2024, Favorite Cartel is a colt out of Dam of Distinction Remember Me Rose. The progeny of this cross is among the most famous in Quarter Horse racing as it includes Grade 1 winners Powerful Favorite, Cyber Attack, Cyber Monday and Bomb Cyclone.

 

Hardtoxplain :12.7 - Also owned by Gamaliel Garza Garcia, this Texas-bred colt is by Flying Cowboy 123 and out of 8-time winner and graded stakes placed mare Hardtoget, the runner-up in the Junos Request in 2018. She was also a stakes winner at Will Rogers.

 

Cartel Ravin :12.6 - Owned by EG High Desert Farms, Favorite Cartel colt is out of the decorated mare Jess Ravin, a multiple graded stakes winner, a winner of 10 races and an earner of $256,253. A seven-time stakes winner at Los Alamitos, Jess Ravin's biggest stakes wins came in the 2018 (G1) Mildred Vessels Memorial Handicap, the Grade 3 Miss Princess in 20217 and Grade 3 Las Damas in 2016.

 

Cattail Coast :12.4 - Owned by Newcomb Racing, gelding by Apollitical Jess is out of Expedited, who is a full-sister to the outstanding iron-horse and Moonist Award winner Cattail Cove, owned by Link Newcomb. Cattail Cove is a $742,295 earner, while another member of this family, Katella Deli, earned over $502,000.

 

Leticia :13.2 - EG High Desert Farms has a strong lineup of juveniles this season with the A Mere Felix filly Leticia another one to watch. She's a half-sister to Restricted Grade 1 winner Bail Czech, an eight-time winner and earner of $247,662 during his outstanding career.

 

Hot Times :12.5 - Trained by Juan Aleman, filly is by Favorite Cartel out of the Grade 1 winner and top producer The Partys On Fire. Hot Times is a half-sister to Up To Party, winner of the Grade 1 Ed Burke Million and Grade 2 PCQHRA Breeders Futurity in 2024. Up To Party qualified to the Grade 1 Los Alamitos Oaks to be held on March 22.

 

Could Be Hot :12.6 - Also conditioned by Aleman, this Fly Thru The Fire colt is from the family of great Babe On The Fly, the dam of Grade 1 winner Little Talks and Rock You. Fly Thru The Fire is also from this family.
