ALPHABETICAL ORDER DOMINATES IN “KING OF THE DISTANCE” PERFORMANCE

          Lirios Racing Stables’ Alphabetical Order lived up to his billing as the “King of the 1,000-Yard Distance” on Sunday night, delivering a dominant wire-to-wire performance to capture the $8,500 starter allowance feature at Los Alamitos. The victory marked the fourth consecutive win at the Orange County oval for the standout California-bred gelding.

Breaking sharply under jockey Ricardo Ramirez, Alphabetical Order wasted no time establishing control of the 1,000-yard contest. He seized the lead early and never looked back, widening his advantage through the turn and cruising to an easy three-length victory in a professional time of :51.848.

The race proved to be a banner event for trainer Jesus Uranga. Not only did he saddle the winner, but he also secured the exacta as Run Abboudy Run finished strongly to take the runner-up spot. The 1-2 finish further cements Uranga’s status as the powerhouse barn in the mixed-breed division, following his title as the meet’s leading mixed-breed trainer last season. Momo’s Kiddo rounded out the top three, finishing gamely for third.

For Alphabetical Order, the win is a continuation of a stellar run that saw him named the 2025 PCQHRA 1,000-Yard Male Horse of the Year. With six wins in his last ten starts at the Cypress track, the son of Desert Code continues to be the benchmark for excellence in the 1,000-yard ranks.

Having already scored on opening night in December, Alphabetical Order’s perfect start to the current meet suggests he is the horse to beat at this distance in 2026. Fans and bettors alike have grown accustomed to his consistency; he has now been in the money in 15 of his 20 career outings. Sunday night was simply another chapter in his ongoing reign at the Orange County oval, with all eyes now looking toward the 1,000-Yard Summer Championship set for Sunday, June 14.
