CMTELLUMWHEREYAGOIT OVERCOMES EQUIPMENT TROUBLE

TO WIN VANDY’S  FLASH BY A NOSE

        The red hot racing team of owner Randy Dickerson and trainer Luke Lindsey added another special chapter to their banner 2026 season, as Cmtellumwhereyagotit overcame an equipment mishap to capture the $25,000 Vandy's Flash Handicap in a thrilling nose bob on Sunday night at Los Alamitos.

Guided by jockey Henry Reynoso Lopez, Cmtellumwhereyagotit was strong to the wire to outduel a resilient Fireworks Over Paris. The winning time for the 350-yard sprint was a sharp :17.798. The victory also showed the mettle of the horse and the focus of the reigning leading Quarter Horse pilot at Los Alamitos, as Lindsey revealed in the winner's circle that the victory was secured under harrowing circumstances.

"The saddle slipped on the horse the whole way down," Lindsey explained. "That's why the rider was sliding. I'm honored to win this race named after this great racehorse, who is one of the best to ever run here. I'm sure Randy is very excited with the win."

The triumph continues an outstanding run of success for Dickerson and Lindsey with their standout "CM" homebreds. The team previously celebrated on May 17 when stablemate Cmhowaboutthemcowboy won the Adequan California Derby Challenge, which followed a stellar second-place finish by Cm Jessa Blue Monday in the Grade 1 Los Alamitos Oaks on March 28. With Sunday's gutsy performance, Cmtellumwhereyagotit bolsters his own rising profile, now boasting a career record of two wins from five starts, and $23,556 in total earnings.

Returning $7.80, Cmtellumwhereyagotit proved that even when the saddle slips, the Cm runners of the Lindsey stable will continue their steady run of success as the summer stakes events continue at Los Alamitos.

The 2025 Robert Adair Kindergarten Futurity runner-up, Fireworks Over Paris, lived up to his billing by flying to the end to finish a close second under Jose Flores' conditioning. The son of Ryder Rite earned $5,625 for owners Layne Sprouse, Mark and Marta Winslow and Flores. Angela Aquino's standout Paint Horse, Chiseled N Chrome, finished third making him the breed’s latest standout to shine in a Los Alamitos stakes race.

Ed Allred’s talented Go North, a younger sibling to Los Alamitos Super Derby champion Norco, was fourth and Levaughn Gines’ AP Scorpion Boy to complete the competitive field.
