Dear Racing Fans,

The Wienerschnitzel Wiener Nationals returns to Los Alamitos Race Course!

We are thrilled to announce that the 27th running of the Wienerschnitzel Wiener Nationals at Los Alamitos Race Course is set for July 13, 2024!

The purpose of this fun event is to raise funds for the Seal Beach Animal Care Center, a non-profit group dedicated to finding homes for stray animals in the Orange County area. Since 1996, the Wienerschnitzel Wiener Nationals has helped raise around $300,000 for the Care Center through selected ticket sales and t-shirt sales. This year’s t-shirt design is seen here and will be available for purchase at the main entrance and inside Los Alamitos by the track’s finish line and on the second floor of the grandstand. All proceeds from t-shirt sales benefit the Seal Beach Animal Care Center.

The Wiener Nationals features all the excitement of a Quarter Horse race, with around 100 dachshunds showing their stuff in front of a packed house at Los Alamitos. A total of 10 trial heats will be contested at 50 yards with the winning wieners advancing to the championship race. The participants will be selected based on their entries. We’re also always looking for first time participants as well so make sure you let us know if your doxie has never raced before.

Fans will be able to pick up FREE Wienerschnitzel Wiener Nationals program by all main track entrances. This special program will highlight all the participants and will feature the schedule of events and additional information on the Seal Beach Animal Care Center.
