RACE 5
2-YEAR-OLDS $20,000 MAIDEN CLAIMERS AT 300 YARDS
#3 Monarch Dynasty – April 25 :12.70 at 220 yards - Outside horse
Filly by FDD Dynasty is out of the productive mare Buddlerly Effect. She will work evenly with Untouchable Lover, who is a full sister to AQHA champion Matabari. Monarch Dynasty will get some help from the assistant starter to get her facing straight ahead in the starting gate. She will leave with her head high before leveling out shortly after the start. She is asked right-handed twice and responds by shifting to the inside. Rider will make a quick correction and will encourage her again. She finishes with a good stride and will cross the wire about a head behind her foe. The 12.7 clocking was the 13th fastest of 23 on April 25.
#4 DF Docs Best Dollar – April 16 :12.40 – Outside
Docs Best Card homebred filly was outworked by The Best Feeling 12.5 to 12.7. The Best Feeling was 10th in a troubled debut on May 1. DF Docs Best Dollar broke in and bumped at the start. She was tapped left-handed, then right-handed. She lost ground and crossed the wire under a hold. Her time was the 25th of 41 drills on April 16.
#6 Dynasty N Boogie – April 14 :12.50 – Outside
FDD Dynasty filly worked evenly with the Walk Thru Fire filly California Burnin in :12.5 on April 14. Dynasty N Boogie stood nicely and left the gate nicely. She drifted in after the gap. She was asked and then flagged right-handed in the second half of the work. She finished in good form and continued to go head to head with foe after the finish line.
RACE 6
2-YEAR-OLDS MAIDEN FILLIES AT 300 YARDS
#1 Teller Jazz MRL – May 9 :12.20 at 220 yards – Inside horse
Teller Cartel filly will work evenly with Tellerineedtequila, who will start from post number seven in this race. Teller Jazz MRL was fidgeting in the gate before leaving the gate nicely and then accelerating impressively right after the gap. She took a lead over her foe while racing under a hold. She will cross the wire a head in front of Tellerineedtequila. Teller Jazz MRL will continue with a strong gallop out while still under a hold. She had a similar workout when also leaving the inside post as part of a 3-horse set on April 25. Eduardo Nicasio has been aboard for her works both times.
#2 Sure To Charm – April 16 :13.0 – Outside
Was leaning on the right side of the gate before hopping slightly at the start. She trailed early on, was asked once right-handed and she shifted in. She was tapped again, and she went inside once more. She was tapped left-handed, leveled out late and finished a length behind workmate In Deep Thought. She showed a nice burst after the wire and galloped nicely. Her workmate, In Deep Thought, finished fifth in her debut to Sassies Blues Girl on May 2.
#6 Leah Carroll – April 4 :12.30 – Inside
Hes Relentless filly outworked Bubala, who finished second in her racing debut and was entered to run here on Saturday. Leah Carroll broke inside and then lugged out and nearly crossed in front of Bubala. She was flagged right-handed several times. She came back to the inside and leveled out. Was asked right-handed and showed a nice stride from there to win the drill by ¾ lengths. Leah Carroll had a nice gallop out from there while posting the 3rd fastest of 58 drills on April 4.
#7 Tellerineedtequila – May 9 :12.30 – Outside
Worked in tandem with Teller Jazz MRL, who will start from post one in this race. Tellerineedtequila stood nicely in the gate and broke sharply and straight. Was under a hold the entire way. She made up some ground in the final 25 yards of the drill and galloped out nicely after the wire under a strong hold. Their workout time of :12.30 equaled the 2nd fastest of 19 on May 9. Tellerineedtequila also worked in between horses when part of a three-horse drill in her previous gate work when finishing behind Teller Jazz MRL.
RACE 8
2-YEAR-OLDS MAIDEN AT 300 YARDS
#2 Jess Corona Master – April 16 :12.40 at 220 yards – Outside horse
Corona Cartel gelding outworked First Down Dash filly Shes Our Dasher 12.4 to 12.6. Jess Corona Master stood nicely, broke cleanly and raced in a straight path. Jess Corona Master is never asked and is under wraps across the wire while winning drill by a ½ lengths. He continues to stride nicely during his gallop out. Overall, he posted a very efficient, solid workout while recording the 5th fastest of 41 drills on April 16.
#4 Arcana – May 2 :12.30 – Outside
Homebred gelding will work evenly with Glaciel Rule while sharing the morning’s fastest time from 15 drills on May 2. Leaving from the outside post, Arcana will break in and bump Glaciel Rule, but straightens out rapidly while continuing from there under a hold. He will drift inside during the late stages of the drill, crossing the wire a head in front of Glaciel Rule. Both Arcana and Glaciel Rule covered the 220 yards in :12.3.
